Product Review: Zero Sugar Oreos

Product: Zero Sugar Oreo and Zero Sugar Double Stuffed Oreo

Brand: Nabisco

Rating: 8/10

Found: Target

Summary

One of my favorite cookies growing up was oreos. However, as I became an adult, I realized I needed to watch my sugar intake more.

I would find solace in the sugar free brands of many different cookies, like wafers, or off brand oreos often labeled “sandwich cookies”.

It was upsetting though, that I could never go to a generic grocery store and find a name brand sugar free cookie, especially an oreo, in the snack aisle. It seemed so logical, just make a sugar free version.

Once I saw on socials that Nabisco was coming out with a zero sugar version of their popular oreo cookie, I couldn’t resist. It felt like a dream come true!

Presently, they are still limited as far as where to locate. However I found both sugar free options of the classic oreo at Target. They are also available on Amazon.

They do not come in a classic tray, but a bag  with snack sized portions wrapped together( 2 cookies per package). I got mine on sale, but they were under $10 each regular price.

Taste wise, it took a little getting used to. The flavors were slightly off from regular oreos because of the type of substitute used ( sucralose). I will definitely buy again though.

Rating

Both versions of the zero sugar Oreo ( classic and double stuffed) receive a 8/10.

It scored major points with being a better for you version of the nostalgic cookie, and being available in two relatively popular and accessible locations( Target and Amazon.)

It was well purportioned and had great flavor profiles. You could taste the chocolate and the vanilla without it being overly ‘fake’ tasting.

In the same breath, it lost points for taste. It was a slightly plant like flavor, something you’d get with say a pea protein powder or some sugar free baked goods.

It also lost a few points for only being available in bags/individual packs. Hopefully with popularity, they will grow their variety.
