Summary: I found these bad boys on amazon.com for $10. I am a big Ferrero Rocher fan, and wanted to find a keto version. As far as initial impression, they look exactly like or at least close to the real thing. Everything from the packaging to the gold wrapping reminds me of one of my favorite candies.
Price Wise it’s a really good deal. You get 16 candies for $10, and the real deal is much much more so I couldn’t say no to this.
However it starts to lose points once you unwrap the candy and start to dig in. While overall taste does satisfy cravings for chocolate, it is not very much like a real crunchy hazelnut candy that you are familiar with. For starters the outside of the candy is smooth like a perfect round ball which even contradicts the picture on the front of the packaging. While there is a slight crunch when biting into it, it is mostly milk chocolate tasting not much resemblance to hazelnut (this is where it loses the majority of the points).
In essence if you are looking for a sophisticated looking candy in place of your favorite decadent treat while on your low carb or keto journey, this will satisfy. It is not however, or should not be, expected to be a good replacement for Ferrero Rocher. Can’t say you were warned as to what you were getting into, but again aside from the fact it is not like what it is supposed to be, taste wise it is really good.
